活動內容

Give yourself to the cushion and practice a day of silence, freedom, and ease. This short half-day workshop will introduce calming and peaceful meditative and mindfulness practices that can be applied to daily life. Short interactive games and exercises will be followed by discussion and an outline of key concepts in Chan Buddhism. 


Activities will include very short guided sitting meditation, mindful movement, eating meditation, listening practice, relaxation exercises, and other fun activities which introduce applied mindfulness and Chan in daily life. Both beginners and seasoned practitioners from all walks of life are welcome to this session, which will combine practice with simple, easy to understand explanations of key methods and approaches to Buddhist philosophy.


Light Vegetarian lunch will be provided. 


Fee: FREE.


Registration: Submit the registration form.  Please let us know should there be any food allergies. Once accepted, email confirmation will be sent to you. If you do not receive an email confirmation within 3-4 days of registration, please send an email to chanmeditationgroup@gmail.com for follow up. 


Notes: The Centre provides meditation mats/round cushions/towels for sitting practice activities. Wear clothing suitable for sitting meditation; namely loose and comfortable clothes with neutral colours.  No form-fitting pants or tank tops. Do not use perfumes, colognes, or cosmetics. No cell phone, reading, note-taking, or recording during retreat.
